Design was also my sole responsibility at THE CNC COMPANY. I created the logos, decided on colors, selected typography, designed icons, and dictated our tone and voice. I implemented our brand assets and style into our products, from our machines to our website. I created marketing material from business cards to flyers to merchandise. |

One point of design inconsistency I failed to resolve was letter case in writing. I attempted all lower-case for the website, but maintaining that throughout all company marketing proved difficult. Next time I play with casing I need to make a better system to understand and enforce it. I'm also still regrettably slow with the Adobe suite. I found often times while designing vector images like logos with Illustrator that I wish I could just do it in SOLIDWORKS, which I'm more familiar with. At this point, I can get the job done, but can't breeze through things like more experienced designers. I'll be working on this over time for sure. On a shallower note, the design system I made on Notion is a bit ugly and is more utilitarian than perfectly refined. So, making the design system itself follow our design system would be an improvement lol. |
