I sourced components to create a high-powered laser including a heatsink, 5W laser diode, laser driver, and old flashlight. I disassembled the flashlight, soldering the switch to the laser driver and the laser driver to the diode. I created the body of the device using a steel pipe, aforementioned flashlight, and heatsink which held the laser diode at the end. |
Improvement |
The laser would get pretty weak after just a few minutes of use which must've been due to low battery capacitance. If I had to do it over again I'd increase the battery capacitance so it'd last longer. |
